WELCOME TO THE PINELLAS COUNTY EMS ACADEMY!

Dear Candidate,

On behalf of our EMS Medical Director, Dr. Angus Jameson M.D., welcome to Pinellas County EMS. We are excited and proud that you have chosen to join nearly 2,000 EMTs and paramedics in service of the residents and visitors of Pinellas County.

Your journey will begin with the “EMS Academy,” our foundational learning pathway to certification designed to introduce you to Pinellas County EMS.  While attending the EMS Academy, you must wear your Department’s uniform. Long pants and a button-up shirt are preferred. If you do not have a department uniform, please wear business casual attire with closed-toed shoes at a minimum.

EMS Academy will start promptly at 08:00 each morning; please arrive on time, just as you would for a regularly scheduled shift. If you are late to class, please follow your agency’s standard operating procedure for attendance. As a rule, you will not be allowed in class after 08:15. For your convenience, a map of the EMS Academy classrooms is included below.

We are glad to have you as part of the Pinellas County EMS family and wish you a long, safe, and prosperous career. Should you have any questions about the EMS Academy, please do not hesitate to ask.

Welcome to the family!
